CRS INDUSTRIAL AWARD

CRITERIA

The individual will be an industry leader that has demonstrated innovation in the field of the delivery of bioactives throughout her/his career. Membership in the CRS is required.

The submission package must include two letters of nomination, abbreviated curriculum vitae, lists of patents and publications on the delivery of bioactives, and a statement on contributions to and impact on the field - this should include five selected publications and/or patents showing how these have impacted science, technology and the world community. Completed nomination packets should be sent to CRS headquarters attention Linda Schmitt or email PDF files to lschmitt@scisoc.org by February 28, 2008.

SELECTION PROCESS
The Industrial Award Committee will be responsible for the selection of the awardee.

AWARD
The recipient will receive:

  • $5,000 Cash Award
  • Annual Meeting and Exposition Complimentary Registration
  • Banquet Complimentary Registration
  • Plaque


NOTIFICATION
Awardee will be notified no later than April 15, 2008.

CRS - Industrial Award 2008 Winner
Felix TheeuwesFelix Theeuwes, D.Sc., is chair, co-founder, and chief scientific officer of DURECT Corporation. Theeuwes worked at ALZA Corporation from 1970 until 1999, where he invented the ALZET® mini osmotic pump and invented and led the development of the OROS® technology and products. He directed research and development in transdermal products, the electrotransport/iontophoresis program, and the DUROS® osmotic implant program. Theeuwes holds more than 240 U.S. patents covering these systems and has published more than 80 articles and book chapters.
