CRS Distinguished Service Award

The CRS 2008 Board of Directors selected Martyn Davies as the 2008 Distinguished Service Awardee.

Martyn Davies is professor of biomedical surface chemistry at the Laboratory of Biophysics and Surface Analysis at the University of Nottingham. He was the co-founder of the UK Chapter of the CRS, won the CRS Young Investigator Award in 1997 and was CRS scientific secretary from 2001 to 2007. He also co-founded and is chair of Molecular Profiles Ltd., a university spin-out company that won the 2007 Queens Award for Industry for Innovation. Martyn has published over 350 scientific papers and trained over 80 doctorate students. His research interests include novel methods for the development and characterization of advanced delivery systems and biomaterials.
