  • Abstract must relate specifically to delivery of active ingredients in consumer or industrial products
  • Significant and original contribution within the scope of the Controlled Release Society
  • Ground-breaking research of outstanding quality
  • Individual must be a member of the Controlled Release Society

SELECTION PROCESS
The Consumer & Diversified Products Committee will make the selection of the awardee.

AWARD
The recipient will receive:

  • $1,500 Award
  • Complimentary Annual Meeting and Exposition Registration
  • Plaque
  • Award Winner to Give a Presentation at the 36th CRS Annual Meeting & Exposition


NOTIFICATION
Awardees will be notified by April 30, 2009.

Dr. Kenneth OfokansiBorn on January 17, 1971, Dr. Kenneth Ofokansi obtained his B.Pharm., M.Pharm., and Ph.D. degrees in 1996, 2000, and 2004, respectively, from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. In 2000, he took up a teaching appointment in the Department of Pharmaceutics at his alma mater and rose to the rank of senior lecturer in 2006. Following a post-doctoral research fellowship award in July 2006 from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, he moved to Ludwig-Maximilians University, Munich, Germany, in May 2007, where he has been working on the development of a gelatin-based nanoparticulate formulation for the delivery of human insulin under the supervision of Prof. G. Winter and Dr. C. Coester. Dr. Ofokansi has more than 30 scholarly publications in reputable local and international journals. He is happily married and blessed with two children.
